I’m writing to you on behalf of the amazing educators and students from across the country. No doubt that you know that it has been a challenging 22 months. Our educators and students are ready for a fresh start.
If I had a magic wand, I would ask that you help us to:
Let go of what no longer serves us. We know that things change. But frankly, as humans, we sometimes fear change as it feels like we are losing part of our past. Can you help all of us who serve students to enter this new year with a sense of hope and renewal?
Remember to celebrate . This past year has made us all feel like we weren’t doing enough. We recognize and accept the challenge of having a lot of work ahead of us. However, there’s a sense of pressure to get it all done as fast as we can. We all know that doesn’t work. In 2022, can we be reminded that we must celebrate the journey and the small wins along the way?
Work together. When things get tough, we tend to want to point fingers. “If only they would ______________ (fill in the blank here), things would be better”. Can we rewrite that phrase for 2022? Maybe something like:
So, here’s to you, 2022. We are counting on you to bring us hope, healing, and an opportunistic spirit. We know it’s possible. Let’s do this – together!
