Finishing Strong: Message from our Leaders at Lewis Elementary

Allison Box at Lewis Elementary in Downey encourages her staff to truly celebrate all they have done and how far they have come. She even lets her staff know how excited she is for the coming year.

As we close out the 2017-2018 school year, it is such a great time to reflect on what we have accomplished, the journey that we have taken to get to where we are today, and the plans that we have for an exciting, bright future! This year was an enthusiastic year of growth, not only for our students, but for us as educators as well. I am so incredibly proud of our students and the tireless work that you have dedicated in planning relevant, meaningful, and engaging lessons, which in turn have provided our students with learning experiences they will remember for years to come. Our outstanding academic achievement is the result of an amazing team of students, teachers, staff, families, and community members who share an unwavering commitment to ensure that our students are successful. The minute our students walk down the halls of our school, they embark on a journey of learning and high expectations for student achievement; where they are surrounded by a dynamic team of educators and staff members who have their best interests in mind…always. Together, as a collective group, we have reached new heights. I thank you all for your commitment to strengthening our programs and school! With a growth mindset, we will continue to strive for excellence. It’s all about “Being better today, than we were yesterday and being better tomorrow than we were today. I could not be more excited about what’s in store for the 2018-2019 school year, and for the opportunity to work with all of you to make it happen.   –Allison Box, Principal
